POLYMETRIX SSP process technology is particularly well suited to produce PET pellets with very high viscosity. The high viscosity PET pellets are required for the manufacture of high tenacity yarns, packaging straps and other specialties. Typical applications for these products range from tire cord to seat belts and conveyor belts as well as hoses, nets and ropes. The material fulfils the most demanding requirements of reputable automotive, tire and special textiles manufacturers. Usually homo-polymer PET with or without pigments like titanium dioxide is used for these applications. A high viscosity increase, an even viscosity distribution, minimal dust and oligomer content as well as optimum processing characteristics for subsequent spinning processes are key advantages of PET pellets from POLYMETRIX SSP plants.
